A Bowling Green man has admitted to molesting two young girls in Grayson Co. over a period of a decade.

Kentucky State Police arrested 35-year-old James Edward Colmore Jr. and charged him with first-degree rape, first-degree sodomy (both class A felonies) and first-degree sexual abuse (class C felony), with all the charges involving children under the age of 12.

Colmore was arrested Friday afternoon and lodged in the Grayson County Detention Center.

According to Colmore’s arrest citation, during a “forensic interview” observed by KSP Det. Bryan Washer, the victim said Colmore “had her perform oral sex on him on multiple occasions” when the victim was between four- and 14-years-old. The victim also told investigators that Colmore molested another young girl during the same time-frame.

The victim added that Colmore touched her in her groin area “on multiple occasions, and attempted to have sexual intercourse with her anally and vaginally on at least one occasion.”

During an interrogation by Washer, the arrest citation states that Colmore “admitted to the sexual abuse, and agreed the incidents took place over a period of 10 years.”

If convicted of all charges, Colmore faces more than 100 years in prison.

KSP Post 3 Det. Courtney Milam also participated in the investigation, as Colmore admitted the sexual abuse also took place in Warren Co.

The case was referred to state police by the Department of Social Services.
