The woman wanted in connection to a Laurel County murder has been captured in Clay County.

Ashley B. Lewis, 30, of East Bernstadt, was captured by the Clay County Sheriff’s Office Tuesday night at approximately 8:00. She was wanted for complicity to commit murder in the shooting death of 32-year-old Jeremy Caldwell, of Manchester, on the afternoon of December 20. The homicide took place in a parking lot at the intersection of Hwy 490 and Hwy 1376, about 20 miles north of London (near East Bernstadt).

The murder suspect, 39-year-old Robert B. Gray, of Keavy, was nabbed on December 23 after a standoff with Laurel County deputies at a relative’s home.

According to Clay County Sheriff Patrick Robinson, Lewis’ arrest occurred after law enforcement received a tip that the suspect was at a residence on Cool Springs Road, about seven mile north of Manchester. Upon police arriving at the home, Lewis was found hiding in a bedroom and arrested without incident.

Both suspects are lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center, Gray on a $1 million bond, Lewis on a $500,000 bond.
