Kentucky State Police is investigating a fatal UTV accident in Edmonson County.

Sunday morning at approximately 5:30, Kentucky State Police responded to 5410 Nolin Dam Road in the Blue Holler Off Road Park, in Edmonson County, to investigate a fatality accident.

KSP said the preliminary investigation indicates that 30-year-old Adam Jones, of Fairdale, was driving 2020 Polaris RZR on an unlit trail when he lost control of the UTV and exited the trail, overturning several times.

Jones and a passenger, 22-year-old Lukas F. McCoy, also of Fairdale, were ejected from the vehicle.

Jones was pronounced dead at the scene by the Edmonson County Coroner’s Office, while McCoy was transported to University of Louisville Hospital where he is in stable condition, according to police.

A third passenger, 22-year-old Megan Hayden, of Pleasureville (in Henry and Shelby counties), suffered no injuries in the crash.

The investigation is ongoing and being led by Trooper Aaron Hampton.
