The Ohio County Sheriff’s Office, while searching for a stolen semi-truck, has made a felony drug arrest.

Ohio County Sheriff Tracy Beatty said that last week, deputies and Kentucky State Police responded to the 3600 block of Easton Road, about four miles northeast of Fordsville, after receiving information on a Mack truck stolen from Dunaway Timber Company on April 30 of this year.

“Deputies used UTVs in their search at an address on the 3600 block of Easton Road, but were unable to locate the stolen truck,” Beatty said. Police, though, served indictment warrants on two people at the location, 47-year-old Nikka Elms and 38-year-old Tommy Colbert, both of Fordsville.

Beatty said, “During the warrant service, officers also located suspected methamphetamine in the possession of Nikka Elms …”

Both suspects were arrested, with Elms charged with trafficking in a controlled substance (methamphetamine), possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) and possession of drug violation. She was also charged with a probation violation.

Colbert was charged with the indictment warrant for a drug charge.

Anyone with information on the location of the stolen truck is asked to contact the Ohio County Sheriff’s Office at 270-298-4411.The number “351” is on the truck’s fender, near the hood and grill, police said.
