A Hartford woman has been jailed after shooting a woman in the leg during an argument.
According to the Muhlenberg County Sheriff’s Office, 27-year-old Samantha McCormick was involved in an argument with several people at a residence on Hwy 604 in Central City. When two of the people attempted to leave, McCormick shot at the vehicle, striking a female passenger in the leg.
McCormick was arrested several days later in McLean County and charged with two counts of first-degree wanton endangerment, second-degree assault and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon. She was also served with three failure to appear warrants.
She is lodged in the Daviess County Detention Center on a $20,000 cash bond.
