An Ohio County woman is facing nine charges after she was accused of physically and mentally abusing two young children.
On Tuesday, Ohio County Sheriff’s Office detectives initiated an investigation into allegations of child abuse involving 57-year-old Cheryl A. Bartlett, of Whitesville. During an interview with police at the Ohio County Detention Center, Bartlett admitted to several of the allegations, according to Sheriff Tracy Beatty.
Bartlett was arrested and charged with two counts of first-degree criminal abuse (child under 12), two counts of third-degree criminal abuse (child under 12), two counts of fourth-degree assault (child abuse), fourth-degree assault (domestic violence), first-degree criminal abuse, and intimidating a participant in the legal process.
She was lodged in the Ohio County Detention Center but is no longer listed as an inmate.
