A Hopkins County deputy has been killed in an accident on the Western Kentucky Parkway.
Kentucky State Police said 43-year-old Deputy Terry Vick was killed Wednesday morning at approximately 7:30 when, driving eastbound, his vehicle crossed the median and struck a bridge’s concrete abutment. The accident occurred near the 43 mile marker of the parkway.
Vick was pronounced dead the scene. Police said it’s unclear why Vick lost control of the vehicle.
Hopkins County officials said Vick was the School Resource Officer at Hanson Elementary School.
“What I would like to do is to make sure we keep his family in our thoughts and prayers. They’re going through a hard time right now,” KSP Trooper Rob Austin said.
