The Grayson County Clerk’s Office will be closed to the public beginning Wednesday, March 18, on orders from Gov. Andy Beshear.

Grayson County Clerk Charlotte Willis said in a press release, “In accordance with Governor Andy Beshear, the Grayson County Clerk’s Office will be closed to the public beginning at closing time, Tuesday at 4:00 p.m., March 17, 2020, and will remain closed until further notice.”

Willis emphasized that her staff will report to work to assist with all work that is received by mail, online, or via the phone. She added that her staff will continue to work on the 2020 Primary Election, now scheduled for June 23.

Willis said, although the office is closed to the public, there are three options available for automobile registration and titling:

  • Online renewal is available for most vehicles at drive.ky.gov. You will need a credit or debit card to process the payment. Normal fees apply.
  • Mail to the clerk’s office, at Grayson County Clerk, 10 Public Square, Leitchfield, KY 42754. Please include the prior year’s registration, proof of insurance and payment.
  • Via phone call to 270-259-3201. You will need a credit or debit card to process the payment.

Willis said vehicle transfers will be suspended until further notice. People who have purchased a vehicle from out of state will need to retain the applicable documents until the clerk’s office reopens. Individuals selling a Kentucky titled vehicle will have to wait until the clerk’s office reopens before completing the transaction.
