An eastern Kentucky middle school teacher has been arrested after being accused of sexually abusing a female student.
Derrick Elliott, 57, of Russell, was arrested Wednesday at Russell Middle School and charged with second-degree sodomy of a student younger than 14, according to new outlets. Police said Elliott’s sexual abuse began in February 2018 and continued until this month.
The matter is being investigated by the Flatwoods Police Department.
Elliott was lodged in the Greenup County Detention Center.
