A woman has been sentenced to 168 months in prison after committing two armed bank robberies within minutes of each other.

Jennifer L. Moore, 51, of London, was sentenced Monday to 168 months (14 years) in federal prison by U.S. District Judge Robert E. Wier for two armed bank robberies in Laurel County, brandishing a firearm during a crime of violence and carjacking.

According to Moore’s guilty plea agreement, in July 2018, she asked someone for a ride outside of St. Joseph Hospital in London. During the ride, Moore pulled out a loaded 9mm handgun and stole the van.

She then drove to Forcht Bank in London, disguised herself, and demanded the tellers give her all the $100 dollar bills from the cash drawers. Prosecutors said that in her plea agreement, Moore further admitted to keeping her handgun displayed and repeatedly threatening to kill the bank employees. She took $16,088 in the robbery.

Moore then drove the stolen van a short distance to Cumberland Valley National Bank, inside London Shopping Center, where she once again demanded the tellers’ cash and threatened their lives while brandishing the 9mm. Moore left the bank with $14,481.

She was captured soon after the robberies following a brief high-speed police pursuit.

Moore pled guilty to the offenses on July 1, 2019. Under federal law, she must serve 85 percent of her sentence.
