
A Hardin County man already facing nearly 160 felony child porn charges has been indicted by a federal grand jury.
James Carroll, 20, of Cecilia, who served as a dispatcher for Hardin County E-911, was indicted in U.S. District Court in Louisville on one count of receiving child pornography. The crime involves a girl from Hardin County and one girl from Meade County. According to a report in The News-Enterprise, Carroll went to church with the two girls.
The newspaper reports that the federal complaint states that “Carroll created multiple false social media profiles in an effort to communicate and deceive minors to obtain nude images through online sites including Instagram and Snapchat.” A search of Carroll’s iPad revealed “numerous nude and partially nude images of minors.”
The state charges Carroll faces include nine counts of use of a minor younger than 16 in a sexual performance, 50 counts of use of a minor younger than 18 in a sexual performance and 100 counts of possessing matter portraying a minor in a sexual performance.
The suspect faces dozens of years in prison if convicted of all charges.
Carroll is free on a $100,000 unsecured bond.
