The Grayson County Health Center has released its restaurant/food inspection results for the month of April
The rating score of the establishment is determined by subtracting weighted point values of noted violations from 100, according to officials. Unannounced inspections observe the overall operation, including food source and protection; personnel; food equipment and utensils; maintenance of water and sewage systems; garbage and refuse disposal; insect, rodent and animal control; and storage of toxic items, among others.
Critical violations, four and five points in weight, are items, which if uncorrected, carry the potential to be an imminent threat to the public’s health. These items must be corrected in a time designated by the health department not to exceed 10 days.
The Play Zone day care center, American Legion, Dinner Bell Buffet & Deli, and Caneyville and Clarkson Elementary Schools scored perfect 100s on the inspection.
Two Caneyville gas stations, Fastway #14 and the Parkway Marathon, scored in the low 90s in food and retail inspections, with follow-up visits 12 days later seeing virtually no change in the number and type of violations.
