The Laurel County Sheriff’s Office arrested the parents of four children found living in squalid conditions.

Laurel County Sheriff John Root said that on Monday night at approximately 8:30, deputies assisted a constable in evicting a couple from their home, about two miles west of London. Upon arriving at the residence, deputies made contact with the occupants, 39-year-old Christopher Bowling and 34-year-old Brandy Bowling, and found the home filled with trash, spoiled food and other garbage.

The couple’s four children, ages two to 12, were also living in the horrendous conditions.

The Bowlings were arrested and charged with four counts of criminal abuse (of a child under the age of 12). Christopher Bowling was also served with a warrant for failure to appear on several traffic violations in Pulaski County. Both suspects were lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.

Root said social services was called and took possession of the children.
