
The 2019 Primary Election is in the books.
In the race for the governor’s seat, incumbent Gov. Matt Bevin won the GOP primary with just over half the vote, while Bevin’s nemesis, Attorney General Andy Beshear, captured the Democratic primary with just under 38 percent of the vote.
The statewide turnout of 19.26 percent was higher than the 12.5 percent predicted by Secretary of State Alison Lundergan Grimes. In Grayson County, voter turnout was 19.16 percent, as 3,530 voters cast ballots out of 18,421 registered voters.
A review of all statewide races, with how each candidate performed in Grayson County, is as follows:
