A Fort Knox soldier and member of the base’ Military Police Detachment has been arrested and charged with murder.
ArmyTimes.com reports that 26-year-old German Parra has been accused of shooting and killing a 16-year-old boy in Beech Grove, Indiana, just outside Indianapolis on April 7. Parra is originally from the area.
He was arrested on a U.S. Marshals warrant and lodged in the Hardin County Detention Center.
Parra is one of two suspects in the death of Xavier Weir. According to media outlets, Parra and 16-year-old Isaiha Funez, also facing a murder charge, followed Weir to a Beech Grove home and opened fire. ArmyTimes.com reports that Funez told authorities that Parra planned to rob Weir, who had advertised on Snapchat that he had marijuana and THC cartridges for sale. Weir also flashed cash in the Snapchat clip.
Parra has been a sergeant with the military police since October 2018 and joined the Army in January 2012.
