The AARP Smart Driver Safety Course will be held at the Grayson County Extension Office on October 24, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m., CST. The course is the nation’s first refresher course specifically designed for drivers age 50 and older. The course is designed to help you refresh your driving skills and your knowledge of the rules and hazards of the road, and reduce your chances of receiving a traffic violation or getting into an accident. You will learn defensive driving techniques, proven safety strategies and new traffic laws and rules of the road. There are no tests to pass. Upon completion of the course, you will receive a multi-year discount on your car insurance if you are aged 55 and older. Check with your insurance carrier for more information on this discount.
The class is $15 for AARP members and $20 for non-members. Bring your driver’s license and AARP Membership Card (if you are a member) with you to the class. Payment can be made on the day of the class with cash or a check made payable to AARP.
