The U.S. Marshals Service and Kentucky State Police are encouraging citizens to be on the lookout for a 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee stolen by federal fugitive Shawn Christy on Thursday night in Adair County.

Christy, 27, of McAdoo, Pennsylvania, has threatened the lives of President Donald Trump and Marine Corps Medal of Honor recipient Dakota Meyer, who resides near Columbia, in Adair County.

Police said Christy broke into Meyer’s home Thursday morning at about 8:30 before going to home of Timothy Gilliam, Meyers’ brother, and stealing the Jeep Cherokee Thursday night at about 6:30. The Jeep is a postal delivery vehicle with the steering wheel on the right side of the passenger compartment.

The Jeep is green in color and bears license plate number 095-WYT.

The U.S. Marshals Service continues to lead the manhunt for Christy, with the burglary and stolen vehicle investigations led by Kentucky State Police.

Christy also has multiple arrest warrants in Pennsylvania for burglary, probation violations and failure to appear for an aggravated assault case. He has threatened to use “full lethal force on any law enforcement officer that tries to detain me,” according to police.

Christy is a white male, standing 5-feet-10 and weighing approximately 160 pounds. He has a tattoo of a cross on his right upper arm, short dark blonde hair and a beard. He speaks with a lisp.

Federal Agents are offering a cash award of up to $15,000 for information leading to the arrest of Christy. Anyone with information on Christy’s whereabouts is asked to contact the U.S. Marshals Service at 1-877-926-8332, or the FBI at 215-418-4000. He should be considered armed and dangerous.

Meyer is the first living U.S. Marine to be honored with the Medal of Honor in nearly 40 years.
