Federal authorities are in Kentucky searching for a man who threatened to kill President Donald Trump.

Police said U.S. Marshals and the FBI have been in Adair County (about 88 miles southeast of Leitchfield) for several days looking for 27-year-old Shawn Richard Christy, of McAdoo, Pennsylvania. Christy made threats against the president, other elected officials, and Adair County resident Dakota Meyer.

A stolen 2012 Toyota Tundra, believed to have been taken by Christy on Thursday, was located near Meyer’s residence close to the Adair/Green County line on Saturday. Authorities also believe Christy stole a 2008 Dodge Caravan, abandoning the vehicle near Nitro, West Virginia in late July.

An arrest warrant was issued for Christy on June 19 after Facebook threats were posted to the Northampton County (Penn.) district attorney, stating, “Keep it up Morganelli, I promise I’ll put a bullet in your head as soon as I put one in the head of President Donald J. Trump.”

Christy also has multiple arrest warrants in Pennsylvania for burglary, probation violations and failure to appear for an aggravated assault case. He has threatened to use “full lethal force on any law enforcement officer that tries to detain me,” according to police.

Christy is a white male, standing 5-feet-10 and weighing approximately 160 pounds. He has a tattoo of a cross on his right upper arm, short dark blonde hair and a beard. Christy speaks with a lisp.

Federal Agents are offering a cash award of up to $15,000 for information leading to the direct arrest of Christy. Anyone with information on Christy’s whereabouts is asked to contact the U.S. Marshals Service at 1-877-926-8332, or the FBI at 215-418-4000.

Christy should be considered armed and dangerous.
