A Breckinridge County man has been indicted on a murder charge following a November 2017 hunting death.
Kentucky State Police presented the results of the death investigation to the Breckinridge County Grand Jury. As a result, the grand jury indicted 43-year-old Christopher B. Stone, of Irvington, for the murder of 39-year-old Nicholas Lee Ford, of Brandenburg.
The indictment stems from the November 23, 2017 incident in which Kentucky State Police and Kentucky Fish and Wildlife officials responded to a field near JE Haynes Road in Irvington. Police said that Stone and Ford were deer hunting in an overgrown field when Stone discharged his rifle, striking Ford in the back.
Ford was pronounced dead at Breckinridge Memorial Hospital.
On Friday, Stone was arrested by the Breckinridge County Sheriff’s Office on the indictment warrant and lodged in the Breckinridge County Detention Center on a $100,000 cash bond.
