Thursday night at approximately 7:35, Leitchfield Police Officers Bart Glenn and Eugene Cain were dispatched to the 300 block of South Clinton Street on the report of a burglary.

According to Officer Glenn, a neighbor who looks after the home noticed that someone had been on the property on Wednesday. On Thursday evening, the neighbor returned to the home, which no one occupies but has furniture and appliances inside, and when walking to the back of the residence saw three men loading goods into a black SUV.

The three men saw the neighbor and fled, with the neighbor immediately calling 9-1-1.

Two of the men got into the SUV and drove a short distance down South Clinton Street and parked, with the third suspect fleeing on foot.

Upon Officers Glenn and Cain’s speedy arrival, the suspects in the SUV had been blocked in a nearby driveway by the neighbor and property owner, who had arrived on scene. Both suspects were detained by police. A short time later, the third suspect was captured on South English Street by Officer Cain.

The three suspects were in the process of stealing washers, driers, appliances, and furniture when they were caught. All of the items have been returned to the property owner, Officer Glenn said.

The three suspects, 22-year-old Glyndon Crane and 21-year-old David Guest, both of Leitchfield, and 20-year-old John Whitehead, of Clarkson, were arrested and lodged in the Grayson County Detention Center where the trio has been charged with third-degree burglary, a class D felony.

Grayson Count Deputies Taylor Logsdon and Kelsey Overton assisted at the scene.
