National Trails Day will be held free Saturday, June 2nd from 8am-11am at the Taylor Fork Trail.
A 1.5 Mile Hike & Rock Hunt begins at 8am. Explore the trail while searching for unique hand painted treasures and hunting for special “prize rocks”! Children of all ages are encouraged and well behaved, leashed pets are welcome. “Prize rocks” and painted rocks are needed to give away during the event.
An Introduction to Bird Watching educational walk will be held at 9am. Join Jerry & Jennifer Synder as they lead the bird walk. Binoculars and cameras are encouraged. The walk is recommended for older children and adults. Please no dogs, as they may alert the birds.
A Trail Construction Clinic will take place at 9:30am. Gain valuable knowledge and hands on experience from Kentucky Mountain Bike Association Lincoln Trail President, Vince Carman during his clinic on trail construction. Comfortable attire and work gloves suggested.
Booth Hosts Needed: Local business and organizations are needed to host booths during the celebration. Hosting a tables if free. Simply offer an activity, refreshment or prize. Call 270-259-2735 for more information.
