Rep. Tim Moore, R-Elizabethtown, recently attended the White House Veterans Affairs Conference with state and local leaders in Washington, D.C.
Rep. Moore, who chairs the House Veterans, Military Affairs, and Public Protection Committee (VMAAP), was invited to attend the event by the White House Office of Intergovernmental Affairs (IGA).
“It was a wonderful experience spending time at the White House Veterans Affairs Conference,” Rep. Moore said. “As a United States Air Force Colonel, I am well aware of the needs of our veterans here in Kentucky and I enjoyed discussing state-level policy initiatives with other veteran advocates from across the country. Working with Gov. Bevin, we will continue to formulate laws and policies here in the Commonwealth that ensure our military men and women receive the care, resources, and respect they deserve for defending our country and way of life.”
Cabinet secretaries and senior White House staff from the National Economic Council discussed important issues related to veterans’ public policy. The discussion included Kentucky’s own General Norm Arflack of the KDVA, and Col. Blaine Hedges, the Executive Director for the Governor’s Kentucky Commission on Military Affairs.
Rep. Tim Moore, who has served in the Kentucky General Assembly since 2007, represents Grayson County and part of Hardin County. He is a graduate of the United States Air Force Academy and has served in the U.S. Air Force since 1984.
