There are multiple locations in Grayson County where road work will take place over the next several weeks.

“Preparation work for asphalt resurfacing projects is under way along multiple routes in Grayson County,” Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) District 4 spokesman Chris Jessie said.

Crews, Jessie said, will be working on base failures on the following roadways:

  • KY 187 (Shrewsbury Rd.)
  • KY 889 (Rocky Hill Estates Rd.)
  • KY 631 (Concord Rd.)
  • KY 479 (Wax Rd.)

As the repairs are finished, asphalt surface will be laid.

Additionally, patching work along KY 2804 (Hopewell Rd.) will be completed in this round of resurfacing.

Motorists should be aware of various work locations along these routes over the next several weeks — Slow down, minimize distractions and pay close attention to work zone signs. Anticipate flaggers being present to direct traffic around paving operations.

The work should be completed by the end of May, Jessie said.

Use caution when traveling on Owensboro Road (KY 54), approximately one-tenth-of-a-mile west of Leitchfield, and Beaver Dam Road (KY 62) on what is popularly known as “Rock Crusher Hill,” as crews are working at those future intersections as part of the William Thomason Byway extension project.

K105 has reached out to the KYTC to determine how the ongoing work at those intersections will impact travel in the near term. K105 will have an update when we hear back from the KYTC.
