Murder suspect captured

A murder suspect on the run from police has been captured.

Kentucky State Police said 67-year-old Larry Johnson, of Prestonsburg, was captured on Saturday.

He is accused of shooting and killing 48-year-old Steven Adkins, of Prestonsburg, on Friday afternoon during a “physical altercation,” according to state police.

The shooting took place near Auxier bridge in Floyd County. Adkins was transported to Highland Regional Medical Center where he was pronounced deceased.
