A man is facing felony charges after a DUI crash near Caneyville injured his passenger.
The Grayson County Sheriff’s Office, Caneyville Fire Department and EMS responded to the wreck Saturday night at approximately 11:30 in the 3300 block of Morgantown Road (Hwy 79).
Based on evidence at the scene, a Kia Sorrento, being driven by 35-year-old Thomas K. Scarbeau, of Butler County, was traveling south on Morgantown Road when the vehicle left the roadway. The Kia traveled about 50 yards off the road, narrowly missing a culvert, before it struck an embankment and flipped onto its top, coming to the rest in the roadway.
A female passenger was transported by EMS to Owensboro Health Twin Lakes Medical Center.
Scarbeau, who was also transported to the ER, was arrested and charged with DUI, felony wanton endangerment and second-degree assault. He was lodged in the Grayson County Detention Center.
Only a few hours prior to Scarbeau’s crash, and a short distance from the crash site, another driver, 47-year-old Jeremy R. Miller, of Grayson County, was arrested after a non-injury, DUI wreck.
