A murder suspect is on the run.
Kentucky State Police is looking for 67-year-old Larry Johnson, of Prestonsburg. He is accused of shooting and killing 48-year-old Steven Adkins, of Prestonsburg, on Friday afternoon during a “physical altercation” near Auxier bridge in Floyd County, according to state police.
Adkins was transported to Highland Regional Medical Center where he was pronounced deceased.
Johnson fled the murder scene in a vehicle, which was later located. He then, though, fled on foot into a wooded area near Jane Brown Branch, state police said. He was last seen wearing a blue flannel shirt and blue jeans.
Anyone with information regarding Johnson’s whereabouts is asked to contact KSP at 606-433-7711.
