A teenage passenger has died in a crossover crash in Nelson County.

Kentucky State Police said troopers responded to the accident on Tuesday night at approximately 6:00 in the 800 block of Hwy 509 (Fairfield Rd.) in Coxs Creek.

The state police investigation revealed that 26-year-old Jonathan Hood, of Lawrenceburg, was driving a 2002 Chevrolet Silverado north on Hwy 509 when he crossed the center line and into the path of a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado, being driven by a 17-year-old juvenile.

Both Hood and the juvenile driver were transported to University of Louisville Hospital with life-threatening injuries.

A passenger in the juvenile’s vehicle, 18-year-old McKinzi Raisor, of Bardstown, was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Nelson County Coroner’s Office.

The crash remains under investigation by KSP accident reconstructionist, Trooper Scott Wheatley.
