More information has emerged related to the arrest of the man suspected of burglarizing a Leitchfield pawn shop and stealing multiple firearms.
The Bowling Green Police Department said the Leitchfield burglary suspect, 28-year-old Dwane Holschuh, was observed on Tuesday afternoon by Lowe’s asset protection personnel who claim Holschuh “committed a felony theft from the store on April 5,” according to the BGPD.
Bowling Green police responded to the store, at 150 American Lane, and took Holschuh into custody on a shoplifting charge (more than $1,000, less than $10,000). He also had multiple warrants for his arrest.
“Through further investigation—and with the cooperation of Lowe’s asset protection—it was determined Holschuh had been in the company of additional individuals, one of whom had an active warrant,” Bowling Green police said in a social media post.
Officers located the other individuals in the 1900 block of Mel Browning Street and placed the suspects in custody on various charges, including methamphetamine trafficking.
As a result of the ongoing investigation, officers recovered three handguns (two of which had defaced serial numbers), multiple grams of methamphetamine, stolen personal identifying information, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia.
A $5,000 reward had been offered by the ATF and the National Shooting Sports Foundation for information leading to the arrest of a suspect and the recovery of the stolen firearms.
Holschuh faces state and possibly federal charges in the burglary.
He’s currently being held in the Warren County Regional Jail.
