
A wanted Leitchfield man who absconded from parole has been arrested on drug trafficking and gun charges.
On Friday afternoon at approximately 3:00, the Greater Hardin County Narcotics Task Force and Leitchfield Police Officer Brian Jennings observed a Nissan Versa, being driven by 24-year-old Johnathan W. Burden.
Police were aware Burden had a warrant for his arrest for possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine). He had also absconded from parole after being convicted of methamphetamine possession in Grayson County in May 2022, according to the Kentucky Department of Corrections.
Law enforcement executed a traffic stop on Burden, who had “the incorrect registration plate” on the vehicle, at South Gate Mall on South Main Street in Leitchfield. During a search, police located multiple grams of methamphetamine, a loaded 9mm handgun, and digital scales and baggies, according to the arrest citation.
Burden was arrested and charged with trafficking in a controlled substance (methamphetamine), possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), and possession of drug paraphernalia along with multiple non-moving violations.
A passenger, 26-year-old Brittney C. Bradley, also of Leitchfield, was arrested and charged with trafficking in a controlled substance (methamphetamine), possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Both suspects were lodged in the Grayson County Detention Center.
