A stepfather has admitted to raping and sodomizing three girls younger than 12, and one 13-year-old.
The Pikeville Police Department arrested 37-year-old John Yelton, of Pikeville, after he admitted to sexually abusing his 13-year-old stepdaughter and her two younger siblings on “countless” occasions.
The arrest came after someone reported that the children were being abused. The ensuing investigation showed that Yelton raped and sodomized all three female juveniles, according to a report by WYMT.com.
“The allegations were made after a forensic interview with the children,” the Pikeville PD told WYMT.com. “He was detained at that point (and) brought to the station for questioning. And then, at that point, after waving his Miranda rights, he made statements of several different cases of sexual abuse, sodomy, and rape on all three children in the home.”
Yelton was charged with three counts of incest (victim younger than 12, victim younger than 18 by person three or more years older), three counts of first-degree rape (victim less than 12), three counts of first-degree sodomy (victim younger than 12), and three counts of first-degree sexual abuse (victim younger than 12).
The suspect is being held in the Pike County Detention Center.
