The Leitchfield Fire Department responded Tuesday to a fire at Baillie Lumber Company.
Leitchfield fire personnel were dispatched at approximately 5:00 p.m. to 279 Shaw Station Road on the report of a fire in the company’s boiler room.
Upon arriving at the scene, firefighters found that a thick layer of sawdust on the roof of the boiler room had caught fire, Leitchfield Fire Chief Tim Duvall said. Firefighters were lifted onto the roof and extinguished the blaze.
The fire, Duvall said, was caused by sparks coming out of the chimney.
Firefighters cleared the scene at about 6:00 p.m. No injuries were reported.
