The mother of a six-year-old child killed in a head-on crash has been charged with the little girl’s death.
The Madisonville Police Department arrested 34-year-old Jessica L. Settle, of Manitou, on an indictment warrant charging her with vehicular homicide when under the influence of drugs/substance, two counts of second-degree assault, her second DUI (non-alcohol), possession of a controlled substance (drug unspecified), possession of drug paraphernalia, and first-degree persistent felony offender.
The indictment arose from a head-on collision on September 16, 2024, on Nebo Road near Manitou that resulted in the death of Settle’s six-year-old daughter, Aurora Gaskill, of Manitou, according to a report by WFIE.com.
A driver and passenger also suffered injuries in the crash.
The Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office and Kentucky State Police conducted the lengthy investigation.
Settle is lodged in the Hopkins County Detention Center on a $500,000 cash bond.
