2 more die in floodwaters. Death toll now stands at 4

The flooding death toll in Kentucky has risen to four.

Kentucky State Police said the body of 27-year-old Lee Chandler, of LaCenter (McCracken Co.), was discovered in floodwaters on Monday. He had last been seen on Sunday afternoon at approximately 3:45 in Kevil, a small McCracken County town.

Police said he was “swept away by floodwaters as he attempted to retrieve his boat.”

In Pendleton County, 66-year-old Robert E. Singleton, of Butler, was discovered in floodwaters on Monday. He was wearing a life jacket, state police said.

As K105 previously reported, a nine-year-old boy and 74-year-old man died in floodwaters on Friday and Saturday morning respectively.

The nine-year-old victim, Gabriel Andrews, of Frankfort, died Friday morning after being swept away by floodwaters in the Hickory Hill area of Frankfort as he walked to his school bus stop.

In Nelson County, the 74-year-old man died early Saturday morning after being trapped in his car in floodwaters.
