‘Armed and dangerous’ suspect on the run since Wednesday captured in Madisonville

An “armed and dangerous” man on the run since Wednesday has been captured.

On Wednesday, the Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office requested assistance from Kentucky State Police in locating 45-year-old Jonathan Ruby, of White Plains (Hopkins Co.), who fled on foot after being involved in a physical altercation following a traffic accident.

“Ruby is considered armed and dangerous,” state police said at the time.

He was also wanted on multiple warrants, including trafficking in a controlled substance (methamphetamine), first-degree fleeing or evading police, possession of synthetic drugs, identity theft, and multiple parole violations.

Ruby was arrested on Monday by the Madisonville Police Department after investigators received a tip on his location.

He was lodged in the Hopkins County Detention Center on a $20,000 cash bond.
