
A total of five tornadoes touched down in Kentucky during Sunday evening’s severe thunderstorms, including in Breckinridge County.
According to the NWS:
- The tornado that struck Jefferson Co. touched down in Fairdale, packing winds up to 100 miles per hour. The twister was on the ground for 5.4 miles.
- The Spencer Co. tornado struck near Mt. Eden, with wind speeds reaching 90 mph. The tornado was on the ground for 2.5 miles.
- The tornado that initially touched down in Meade Co., traveled through a sliver of Hardin Co. before entering Bullitt Co., possessed wind speeds up to 105 mph and was on the ground for 31.1 miles.
NWS damage surveyors were on the ground on Tuesday and determined two additional twisters touched down: One in central Breckinridge County and another twister that touched down in Meade Co. and traveled into Hardin Co.
According to the NWS:
- The twister in Breckridge County touched down near Harned and had winds up to 100 mph. The tornado was on the ground for 2.5 miles.
- The second tornado that initiated in Meade Co. traveled into Hardin Co. near Radcliff. It had wind speeds up to 100 mph and was on the ground for 7.2 miles.
The NWS said damage surveys in Kentucky are completed.
