At least three tornadoes touched down during Sunday evening’s severe thunderstorms.
Damage surveyors from the National Weather Service (NWS) confirmed that three EF-1 twisters touched down; in Fairdale in Jefferson County; in Mt. Eden in Spencer County; and one tornado that initially touched down in Meade County before traveling into Bullitt County.
“Further analysis is required to determine the continuity of the path from Meade to Bullitt County,” the NWS said.
EF-1 tornadoes have wind speeds between 86 and 110 miles per hour.
NWS damage survey teams will be at work on Tuesday in Breckinridge and Hardin counties.
