A 73-year-old Kentucky man has been accused of raping a housekeeper and offering her money to not report the incident.

The victim placed an advertisement on the NextDoor app requesting residential cleaning jobs or babysitting work, according to a report by WDRB.com. Richard Conkin, of Fairdale, responded to the ad, requesting she clean his Windsor View Drive home.

When the victim began cleaning Conkin’s bedroom on Friday, he is accused of entering the room, tossing the woman on the bed and restraining her by holding her wrists. The suspect then allegedly disrobed and raped the woman.

Conkin offered to pay the victim $20 more than she was owed for the cleaning if she kept quiet about the assault.

Police told WDRB.com that the victim displayed bruising on her wrists and cuts to her knuckles.

Conkin was arrested on Friday and charged with first-degree rape. He has since been released from Louisville Metro Corrections on a $250,000 cash bond.
