A high school track and field coach and assistant football coach has been charged with first-degree sexual abuse.

Harlee Estepp, 28, of Grayson, was arrested by Kentucky State Police on Wednesday. Estepp is the varsity track and field coach and assistant football coach at Ashland Blazer High School in Boyd County.

The investigation began in 2022 “after law enforcement received information regarding Estepp’s interactions with a juvenile,” state police said.

“The matters under investigation,” state police noted, “are connected to events that transpired prior to his current employment.”

In addition to first-degree sexual abuse, a class C felony, Estepp was charged with procuring or promoting the use of a minor through electronic means, a class D felony.

Estepp is being held in the Carter County Detention Center on a $50,000 cash bond.
