A Hardin County man has been found guilty of fatally shooting his wife.
Jordan M. Henning, 35, of Rineyville, was found guilty of first-degree manslaughter in the shooting death of his wife, 37-year-old Ashley Henning, also of Rineyville, in June 2023, according to media outlets.
A formal sentencing date has not been announced. First-degree manslaughter is a class B felony punishable by up to 20 years in prison.
Both Hennings were active-duty military personnel stationed at Ft. Knox at the time of the shooting, which occurred during an argument over a Slip and Slide at a birthday party for Ashley Henning. The entire incident was captured on the couple’s home surveillance system.
The neighbors then reentered the home and found Ashley Henning in the kitchen. She had been shot several times in the chest.
Jordan Henning was arrested a short time after leaving his residence. He was initially charged with murder (domestic violence).
Ashley Henning was a master sergeant at the time of her death and joined the U.S. Army in 2005. She served in Iraq, Afghanistan and Kuwait.
