A second officer-involved shooting in Kentucky in two days has resulted in the death of a Henry County man.

The Kentucky State Police Critical Incident Response Team was requested by the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office early Monday morning to investigate an officer-involved shooting.

The preliminary investigation indicated troopers received information from the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office regarding a shooting where the suspect fled “toward Livingston and Lyon counties,” state police said

A Lyon County deputy soon observed the suspect’s vehicle pulling into the Huck’s Travel Center on US 62 in Kuttawa.

Upon making contact with the suspect, 30-year-old Jedidiah S. Skinner, of Smithfield, an altercation occurred resulting in the deputy fatally shooting Skinner. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.

As K105 reported on Monday morning, a Christian County deputy shot and killed 39-year-old Patrick J. Martinez on Sunday morning when Martinez began shooting at police as they arrived at his Crofton residence on the report of a violent domestic dispute.
