An Elizabethtown man has viciously assaulted a woman inside Vine Grove City Hall.
The Vine Grove Police Department arrested 39-year-old Michael S. Araiza, of Elizabethtown, on Saturday night and charged him with first-degree strangulation and fourth-degree assault.
Araiza’s arrest arose from a surveillance video at Vine Grove City Hall showing Araiza throwing the victim on the floor before placing his arm around the woman’s neck and dragging her into an office, out of the camera’s view, according to a report by The News-Enterprise.
He then is accused of strangling her and beating her head against the floor.
Araiza is being held in the Hardin County Detention Center on a $25,000 cash bond but is no longer listed as an inmate.
