A former corrections officer at a western Kentucky juvenile detention center has been charged after breaking the arms of two male juveniles.
At the request of the Department of Juvenile Justice, Kentucky State Police initiated an investigation in October 2024 that determined 30-year-old Tyler G. Lynn, of Paducah, in two separate incidents, “used excessive force resulting in two male juveniles sustaining fractures to their arms,” state police said.
The assaults took place at the McCracken Regional Juvenile Detention Center.
In late February, the investigation findings were presented to a McCracken County Grand Jury which returned an indictment against Lynn, formerly a captain at the facility, on two counts of second-degree criminal abuse, a class D felony.
Lynn was arrested on Thursday and lodged in the McCracken County Detention Center. He is no longer listed as an inmate.
