Robert “Jr.”McStoots, age 87, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Saturday, (March 1, 2025) at his home.
He was born on March 16, 1937 in Grayson County, KY, the son of the late John and Veva Langdon McStoots.
Jr. retired from working at Johnson Controls after 28 ½ years. He then went to work for the city of Leitchfield for 10 years; working in maintenance at the city park. He was a member of UAW Local 862 in Louisville.
He married Carolyn Lavonne Willis on September 1, 1956, and together they made a good life until her
death in 2023. He enjoyed riding around and traveling with his wife. They especially loved going to the Great Smoky Mountains. He also enjoyed working on lawn mowers. Jr. attended New Freedom Church.
He is survived by his sons, Wayne McStoots (Betty Lou) and Robert W. McStoots; four grandchildren, David, Amy, Kristie, and Daniel; eight great-grandchildren, Tyler, Kelsey, Madi, Michael, Emma, Gracie, Tyler, and Lexie; two great-great-grandchildren, Camden and Iris; and several nieces and nephews.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Lavonne Willis McStoots.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, (March 7, 2025) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Bro. Mickey Coates will be officiating. Burial will be in the New Freedom Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday and from 9:00 a.m. Friday until time of services.
