A married couple is dead and another man critically injured in a murder-suicide shooting.
Kentucky State Police said troopers responded to the incident Thursday night at 11:45 at a residence on Main Street in Crab Orchard, a small town in Lincoln County.
The state police investigation showed that 30-year-old Spencer L. Baldwin, of Crab Orchard, shot 40-year-old Dennis Perry, of Loretto, and his wife, 30-year-old Heather B. Baldwin, of Crab Orchard, before turning the weapon on himself.
Perry, state police said, sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.
Heather Baldwin, who ran for Lincoln Co. judge-executive in 2022, was transported to Ephraim McDowell Fort Logan Hospital where she later succumbed to her injuries. Spencer Baldwin was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Lincoln County Coroner’s Office.
The couple had at least three small children.
Autopsies will be performed at the state Medical Examiner’s Office in Frankfort.
The ongoing investigation is being conducted by KSP Det. Johnathan Walls.
