More information has been released regarding a double-murder and suicide in Lincoln County.

K105 reported Friday morning that Kentucky State Police said troopers responded to the incident Thursday night at 11:45 at a residence on Main Street in Crab Orchard, a town of 750 residents in Lincoln County.

The state police investigation showed that 30-year-old Spencer L. Baldwin, of Crab Orchard, shot 40-year-old Dennis Perry, of Crab Orchard, and his estranged wife, 30-year-old Heather B. Baldwin, of Crab Orchard, before turning the weapon on himself.

The shooting occurred at Perry’s apartment when Spencer L. Baldwin arrived at the residence and opened fire on Perry and Heather B. Baldwin.

Perry, state police said, was transported to Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center where he later died.

Heather Baldwin, who ran for Lincoln Co. judge-executive in 2022 and was the chair of the Lincoln County Democratic Party, was transported to Ephraim McDowell Fort Logan Hospital where she later succumbed to her injuries. Spencer Baldwin was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Lincoln County Coroner’s Office.

The couple had at least three small children.

Autopsies will be performed at the state Medical Examiner’s Office in Frankfort.

The ongoing investigation is being conducted by KSP Det. Johnathan Walls.
