A mudslide has claimed a cargo container and a temporary office at Buffalo Trace Distillery.

The incident happened on Monday in Frankfort after a substantial amount of rain caused the container and office to slide into the Kentucky River, according to multiple media reports.

“(A) weather-related mudslide occurred on the northeast side of Buffalo Trace Distillery,” the company said.

No injuries were reported, as employees were not in the area when the mudslide occurred.

“No team members were near the area at the time of the mudslide and the affected property has been properly roped off to ensure the safety of those at the distillery,” the company said. “Buffalo Trace Distillery will work closely with professionals to ensure proper cleanup.”

The mudslide stopped neither production nor tours of the facility.

Buffalo Trace Distillery, owned by the Sazerac Company, claims to be the oldest continuously operating distillery in the U.S., as its origin dates back to 1805.
