An elderly eastern Kentucky woman has died in a house fire.

The fire occurred Tuesday morning in Rockholds, a community of approximately 330 residents in Whitley County, and resulted in the death of 82-year-old Unis Mae Broyles, according to The News Journal.net.

When firefighters arrived on the scene, the home was fully engulfed in flames and Broyles’ vehicle was in the driveway. Firefighters entered the structure to search for Broyles while the residence was still on fire. But it wasn’t until the blaze was extinguished that firefighters discovered Broyles’ body.

The investigation into what started the fire remains ongoing.

Broyles’ obituary at Croley Funeral Home notes that she was a beloved teacher for 47 years:

Unis dedicated 47 remarkable years to fostering young minds in the Whitley County School System. Her passion for education was evident in her teachings at Rockholds Elementary, Whitley Primary, and Oak Grove Elementary School. Unis was not just a teacher; she was a guide, a mentor and a friend to every student who walked through her classroom door.
