A semi-truck flipped on the Western Kentucky Parkway at Leitchfield.

Monday night at approximately 9:50, Leitchfield Police Officers Chuck Hoover and Wally Ritter, Grayson County Deputies Caleb Owens and Joel Baker, the Leitchfield Fire Department, EMS, and Kentucky Transportation Cabinet responded to the crash near the 107-mile marker of the parkway.

Upon arriving at the scene, first responders found that an eastbound First Fleet tractor-trailer entered the median and traveled across the divide for about 75 yards before hitting a westbound guardrail (damaging 100-plus feet of the guardrail). The truck then flipped onto its side.

The driver, who was evaluated by EMS, refused transport.

The empty semi was based out of Murfreesboro, Tennessee.

The westbound parkway was reduced to one lane at the accident site before both lanes were closed while the semi was removed from the scene.

First responders cleared the scene Tuesday at 12:10 a.m.
