Weather-weary Grayson County residents, already dealing with flooding issues, should brace for a significant snowfall.
The National Weather Service (NWS) said the county will be placed under a Winter Storm Warning effective Tuesday at 6:00 p.m.
The NWS said between three and five inches of snow is forecast to fall, with the heaviest snowfall arriving at approximately 9:00 p.m. Tuesday and lasting until Wednesday at 5:00 a.m.
Whatever snow falls will likely stick around for several days, as temperatures in the region are forecast to remain below freezing until Friday when the NWS predicts sunshine and a high of 33 degrees, which should at least begin to melt the snow.
The low temperatures on Thursday and Friday are anticipated to not rise above single digits.
Sunday and Monday should bring warmer air to the area, as the temperature will climb into the mid- to high-40s.
