‘Pounds’ of 6 different drugs, including cocaine & meth, seized at Utica home

Police seized “pounds” of six different drugs at a home in Daviess County.

Kentucky State Police said troopers executed a search warrant last week at a residence in the 1600 block of East Harmons Ferry Road, approximately seven miles southeast of Utica.

During a search of the residence, police “located pounds of … methamphetamine, psilocybin (psychedelic mushrooms), cocaine, xanax, anabolic steroids, and marijuana (see photo below).

Troopers also found scales and various forms of drug paraphernalia, including indoor marijuana cultivation stations, according to Kentucky State Police.

Police arrested 44-year-old Edward J. Morris and 33-year-old Keisha L. Morris, both of Utica, and 20-year-old Case B. Layson, of Livermore.

All three suspects were charged with four counts of trafficking in a controlled substances (methamphetamine, cocaine, hallucinogens, drug unspecified), trafficking in and cultivating marijuana, possession of a controlled substance (drug unspecified), and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Edward J. Morris and Layson were also charged trafficking in anabolic steroids and first-degree wanton endangerment. Edward J. Morris was additionally charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and violation of an EPO/DVO.

All three were lodged in the Muhlenberg Co. Detention Center. Keisha L. Morris and Layson are no longer listed as inmates.
